Baby Dedication

Present your new little one to the entire Spirit Life community!

At Spirit Life Church we celebrate the birth of children by inviting parents to bring their little ones up on stage and introduce them to our community.

On Sunday, September 4th, immediately following the worship portion of our morning gathering, Ps. Ken will invite all the new parents up front to formally present their children to the church. He will read scripture and pray for each child.

This short observance is a way for parents to declare before their friends and family that they will raise their children in a way pleasing to God.

This is not merely a covenant between parent and child, but also between church-community and parent, committing the full resources of love and support from the community in the raising of these precious little gifts from God. Like life in general, parenting is a tremendous journey of discovery and learning. When the responsibilities that come along with it become overwhelming, the community at Spirit Life Church presents itself as a help. That’s what baby dedicating at Spirit Life Church is all about.

Register your child at the info center or talk with the concierge serving there if you have any questions.

THE BREAKDOWN:

What: A short time of recognition and commitment for the new parents in our community formally dedicating their little ones to the Lord and confirming their commitment make Christ the center of their parenting.

Who: Infants and their parents.

Where: Spirit Life Church. Click here for directions.

When: Sunday, September 4th immediately following the worship portion of our 10:30AM corporate gathering.

Contact: If you have any questions about the upcoming baby dedication, feel free to send them along to questions [at] spiritlifechurch [dot] us or chat with a concierge at the info center during a weekend gathering.

Annual VQ Promotion Sunday

The Vision Quest Children’s Ministry presents Promotion Sunday!

Our kids grow up so fast, don’t they? That’s why Spirit Life Church believes the milestones in a child’s life are a big deal and should be treated accordingly.

Promotion Sunday is our attempt to do just that. This is an annual event sponsored by Vision Quest, the children’s ministry of our church, that celebrates the growing up process of the youngsters at Spirit Life. Each year Vision Quest organizes a morning of games, prizes, treats and other activities. Children throughout the area are invited to take part in the fun.

This year, Promotion Sunday will feature demonstrations from the Piqua fire department. In addition to enjoying tours of the PFD truck, games and contests will include tug of war and slip ‘n’ slide. We will also have face painting, cotton candy and snow cones.

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” [Psalms 127:3, NLT]

Vision Quest is always looking for team members to help make the children’s ministry at Spirit Life Church rich, relevant and vibrant. If you would like to lend a hand at this years Promotion Sunday or help VQ in some other way, contact Bridget Batdorf, Vision Quest leadership team member.

2011 Summer Community Day

Celebrate the start of Summer with Spirit Life Church!

We will be setting up grills, music and other activities at Mote Park in Piqua on Saturday, June 11th from 12 – 3PM. There will also be a free market where we will be providing gently used clothing and household items to the community at no cost.

To help kick off Summer in a way befitting the culture of Spirit Life Church, we will be raffling off new children’s bikes and setting up inflatables to bless the children of our community.

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” [2 Corinthians 9:11, NIV]

Easter 2011

What a great time of year to be a believer!

The Easter season is an important time for us to reflect on the awesome sacrifice Christ made when He died for our sins. This sacrifice was the single greatest, selfless act in the history of the world and very foundation of faith for every believer.

Beyond His death, we are also reminded that He didn’t just die, but rose again, thereby creating a way for every person on Earth to connect with God!

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” [John 11:25-26 , NIV]

Join the Spirit Life family for a special time of reflection, devotion and worship as we celebrate our Lord’s resurrection this Easter Sunday, April 24th, at 10:30am. The gathering will begin with a time of corporate worship, followed with communion and special reflection on the the crucifixion of Christ.

With more people attending church on Easter than any other day of the year, this gathering is a special opportunity to invite loved ones who don’t have a relationship with Jesus to hear the greatest story of redemption to ever take place—pray and expect a true touch from God!

Questions: If you have any questions about our Easter Sunday service, please send them to Jessie Johnson or stop by the info center and chat with the Spirit Life Church concierge serving there.
