Cross Culture: Current Series

Culture is a powerful force that can ignite movements and energize entire nations! It has the ability to effortlessly organize and motivate us around the values or goals of our community. It’s so persuasive in fact, that by the time we’re adults, we adhere to the standards and practices of our culture almost instinctively—when was the last time you observed someone riding an elevator facing backwards?!

Within the greater context of a region, every group, company and organization has a unique culture. Therefore, by design or by default, every church has a unique culture.

Cultivating a vibrant, Biblical culture is vital to uniting this church around a simple mission—to connect our community to Christ and to one another. That is our purpose.

We are first and foremost focused on presenting the Gospel in a manner that fosters genuine relationships with Jesus Christ! Secondly, we are striving to build a strong community of fellowship and love, where we live our lives together and work to implement the model of the earliest New Testament Christians.

“And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common” [Acts 2:44 , NASB]

Cross Culture is the current series of teachings about the culture that must grow and flourish at Spirit Life Church—a God-designed culture that will carry this community beyond our four walls to the streets—making disciples, sharing our resources and living our lives with one another.

Cross Culture values our mission above all and contends for it at all costs.

Ignite

    Greetings Spirit Life!

What an exciting time this has been for our church! During the past few months we’ve made many new friends, restructured our teams and departments and have seen the providence of God time and time again. No one could have guessed the changes 2010 would bring, but we chose to trust God and He has proved Himself faithful day in and day out. It is clear that the greatest days of destiny and purpose for our church are ahead!

Ignite is a week long series of services taking place at Spirit Life Church from February 28th to March 4th at 7PM each night. The series will be kicked off by our friend Robert Maasbach, who will minister on Monday and Tuesday night. Services on the remaining three nights will be covered by Pastor Ken. Both Pastor Ken and Pastor Robert feel strongly that God has given them strong words of direction and encouragement and that these services will mark the beginning of a significant point in the future of Spirit Life Church.

But John intervened: I’m baptizing you here in the river. The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out. [Luke 3:16, The Message]

The Message Bible describes the baptism of Jesus in a wonderful way that underlies the Ingnite mission. In the spirit of this scripture, we are fasting and praying, believing that Christ himself will ignite this dynamic once again in us all—that the breath of God will refresh our souls in a deep way and bring change and blessing to our lives. We are believing God for tremendous favor without prescription, so that we might see Him take a great harvest of souls in our community and give us the privilege to be part of it.

Be determined in this season to place a demand on your faith and trust the Lord to ignite the fire of the Holy Spirit in the lives of your family and friends, changing them from the inside out. Ignite.
